About Maya

Maya Gamzu, born in 2008, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actor recognized for her powerful voice, stage presence, and emotive storytelling. In 2023, she rose to national attention as a contestant on Canada’s Got Talent, earning the coveted Golden Buzzer for her standout performance.

In 2024, Maya attended Berklee College of Music’s Aspire summer program, where she formed the international band Five Flows. The group blends jazz, pop, and rock influences, and in the summer of 2025 released their debut single, Drown on You. As a solo artist, Maya released her indie single Forget it All in 2024 and has since performed at venues across Toronto.

Maya trained at Star School Academy, Bravo Academy, the Canadian Children’s Opera Company, and Unionville Theatre Company, building a strong foundation in both music and theatre. She has also performed with the Salvation Army and at the Redwood Theatre, where she was invited by Bill King to take part in his project Hear Me Sing. In addition, Maya studies voice with renowned vocal coach Elaine Overholt.​

Currently in her final year at Westmount Collegiate Institute’s Regional Arts Drama Program, Maya has pursued her passion for performance across both music and theatre. Her training as an actor continues to shape her artistry, bringing depth and expressiveness to her live shows and creative projects.

Maya is committed to building a career that bridges her passions for performance and storytelling, with the goal of creating art that resonates deeply with audiences.
